The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Corporate Plan 2024-25 underscores our commitment to elevating the integrity, quality and relevance of national qualifications across the vocational education and training sector. To deliver on our purpose to ensure quality vocational education and training (VET) so that students, industry, governments and the community have confidence in the integrity of national qualifications issued by training providers, our priorities include:
Outcome Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) – which will outline the key elements of quality training and assessment that organisations must demonstrate to be registered (and maintain registration) as a training provider
Credential Policy– which will operate alongside the Outcome Standards and outline the minimum requirements for delivering training and assessment and undertaking assessment validation
provide our workforce with the right tools, including by progressively implementing digital enhancements to improve our regulatory capacity, service delivery and effectiveness.
DEWR has also released a draft Policy Guidance document. NTA will be progressively releasing draft Regulatory Guidelines to support providers to transition to the revised Standards. Ahead of releasing the full suite of guidance materials, our draft Preparing for the revised Standards is now available. This outlines areas for providers to consider when assessing and self-assuring operations against the revised Standards and will be incorporated into our Regulatory Guidelines over coming months. There will be further opportunities to provide feedback on these resources to help us tailor and improve our educative materials to meet your needs. For more information on the revised Standards, visit the DEWR webpage and our Revised Standards for RTOs webpage. We have communicated directly with all ELICOS providers to restate our expectations and the actions we are taking.NTA continues to actively engage across government to support compliance activities, surveillance, and monitoring activities, where concerns around provider practice have been raised. NTA draws on data and intelligence from many sources to assess risk and determine the regulatory response. Where our compliance and monitoring activities identify a provider does not meet the requirements of the ESOS Framework, we respond in a proportionate way using a range of monitoring, enforcement, compliance, and education tools. Please see NTA’s Approach to Compliance for further information.NTA encourages anyone with information or concerns about a provider’s compliance to be submitted via our online complaints portal - NTAconnect.
